Rockridge High School Wind Study
Interstate RC&D assisted the Rock Island County Board to secure $12,000 from the Illinois Clean Energy Foundation to determine the feasibility of a wind tower to be installed at Rockridge High School in Edgington, Illinois.
Rock Island County has contracted with Jay Haley, EAPC, to conduct the study. The study has been completed and showed that due to several variables that installing a wind turbine to supply the High School's energy needs was cost prohibitive. Ken Maranda and Jim Bohnsack, Rock Island County Board Chairman, made a presentation to the School Board on the results of the study.
