Direct Seeding Workshop
On October 30, 2002 Interstate RC&D conducted a direct seeding workshop. This workshop provided participants with the tools necessary to apply direct seeding and the invaluable resources to aid them with assistance.
The group went to the Scott County Park where they were fed and a direct seeding demonstration was conducted. There were (3) 1/2 acre plots that were planted; one plot was a broadcast planting, one plot was planted using precision planting and the last plot was planted with bare root stock as a comparison. The location of the demonstration site will allow public access and the opportunity to monitor the plantings.
